The Story

When brainstorming ideas for the cover and theme of the 7th volume of our high school yearbook, I found inspiration in the old-fashioned elementary school composition notebooks that contain a mix of doodles, poems, and handwriting practice. The word "composition" evokes a collection of writings, sketches, and memories. I wanted to create a yearbook that captured the diverse compilation of people, experiences, backgrounds, and personalities that make up our school community, from students to staff like cafeteria workers who nurture us daily.

Working on the yearbook has been one of my most fulfilling creative accomplishments. As editor, I wore many hats - journalist, graphic designer, photographer, videographer - curating the yearbook's style guidelines, designing layouts, covering school events, and interviewing students and staff.
